 My doctoral work at Jadavpur University was on Modern Bengali Poetry of 1950’s. I started teaching as a full-time lecturer at Sonada Degree College (Darjeeling). After that I joined Netaji Nagar College for Women (Kolkata) as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Bengali.

I was registered for Ph.D. research project at Jadavpur University on 16.08.2002 and was awarded the Ph.D. degree on 26.08.2009. The title of my dissertation paper is  ‘Panchasher Kayek Jan Kobi O Adhunik Bangla Kobita’. I have worked in the field of Bengali poetry of 1950’s , and tried  to critically analyse the influence of the socio-economic changes occurred around that period. I have discussed the life and the work of some of the important poets of Modern Bengali Literature ; namely  --- Alok Sarkar , Sankha Ghosh , Shakti Chatyopadhyay , Sunil Gangyopadhyay , Alokranjan Dasgupta , Binoy Majumder ,  Utpal Kumar Basu , Amitabha Dasgupta , Kabita Singha,  Nabanita Debsen , Sarat Kumar Mukhopadhyay and Pranabendu Dasgupta . Apart from that, I have always tried to reflect my thought provoking analytical work for preparing my articles published in various Bengali journals and  magazines .

 I generally teach Bengali literature of 19th and 20th century and my likings and longings are on Modern Bengali Poetry (after 1930’s) and Rabindra-literature (Tagore Studies).

 I am interested in supervising postgraduate students in Modern Bengali Literature, particularly in the field of Modern Bengali Poetry and Tagore Studies . I have also supervised PhD students in the field of Modern Bengali Poetry and Novels.
