About-
I am interested in English poetry, novels, prose, and arts of the Romantic Period (1790-1830), art history, science fiction, mythology, and in my discussions I refer to interactions between Literature and Visual Arts. I am pursuing my PhD in the field of Egyptological science fiction and/or science fantasy movies and novels produced from 1980 to the present.

MA English (Jadavpur University, 2009)
BA English Hons. (Jadavpur University, 2007)
Biography+
My M.Phil work at Jadavpur University was on the interaction between characters and buildings of Gothic architecture in the first three novels of Ann Radcliffe. In 2015 I enrolled at the Department of English, Jadavpur University, in the PhD programme.
Research / Administrative Experience+
My ongoing PhD is in the science fiction and fantasy movies and novels produced from 1980 to the present, specially those in which the influences of "Egyptomania" are perceived. I am exploring the western (both Eurocentric and American) imaginations of Egypt through empirical Egyptological studies as well as the popular imaginations appropriating the funerary myths and arts of Egypt.
Teaching / Other Experience+
At Presidency University I have taught Plato's criticism of art (in Book Ten of The Republic), Coleridge's Visionary Poems and his theories of poetry and imagination, William Congreve's The Way of the World, Beowulf, selected poems by W. B. Yeats and Wilfred Owen, Ashapurna Devi's The First Promise (English translation), Ben Jonson's Volpone, visual narrative of the Sistine Chapel, Pre-Raphaelite paintings, etc. I am interested to teach science fiction, and connections between literature and painting.
