Saswatee Mukherjee
Assistant Professor
About-
My work primarily revolves around Microfinance and the impact of growing competition among the MFIs/NBFCs on the various lending parameters of this niche market. For my dissertation I have worked with primary data on microfinance borrowers from suburbs, which I intend to extend to a wider cross-section. My recent interest is to look into the different qualitative aspects that play a key role in the formation of groups in microlending contracts, one of them being the ethnic mix. I plan to work on other forms of informal lending tools that are prevalent in rural India.
