Call for Paper and Programme Theme :
Functional materials possess specific native properties and functions of their own, such as, ferroelectricity, piezoelectricity, magnetism, optoelectronic properties and energy storage functions. Such materials are found in metals, semiconductors, ceramics, polymers, organic molecules and even natural materials like protein molecules.
The objective of the symposium is to exchange views and acquire new ideas on novel materials suitable for three key aspects, namely Energy, Environment and Health. It is expected to cover different fields of material preparation, processing, characterization and application and offer a good platform for interaction among researchers. Original papers for oral and poster presentation are invited on (but not limited to) the following themes.
1· Biomedical and environmental monitoring
2· Electromagnetic applications at radio wave, microwave and at optical frequencies
3· Energy storage and conversion, such as solar energy harvesting and fuel cell
4· Growth and characterization of molecular thin films
5· Materials for replacement of traditional inorganic semiconductors in large area applications
6· Novel devices and phenomena, such as low-dimensional materials, nanomagnets, plastic electronics and spintronics
7. Sensor and detector
8. Others
